Five Shocking Reasons to Consider Having Your Own Online Business

Here Are Five Shocking Reasons to Consider Having Your Own Online Business.
Change your life. Work at Home. Gain Independence and Security.

Listen to these startling statistics published in 2006 in a book called, Rich Woman: A Book on Investing for Women - Because I Hate Being Told What to Do! By Kim Kiyosaki.

The statistics focus on the overall financial picture of women in America today:

* Fifty percent of all marriages end in divorce.
* Forty-seven percent of women over the age of fifty are single.
* Eighteen percent of women never have children.
* When a woman’s marriage ends because of divorce or the passing of her husband, during that first year following, her standard of living drops seventy three percent!
* Three out of four of the elderly, living at poverty level, in the USA are women. Eighty percent of them were NOT poor when married.

If the above-stated statistics are correct, seven out of ten women will at some point in their life, experience poverty. Isn’t that a sobering thought? Think of ten strong, courageous women in your life. Now imagine seven of them will at some point, experience poverty, seven of them. That seems outlandish, doesn’t it? But think about it and then compare it to some of the real life situations going on for some of your friends or co-workers surrounding you right now. You may realize such as I did that many of them have actually lived through one or more of these scenarios or are possibly enduring one right now.

The real truth hit me when I remembered that many years ago my first marriage had ended in divorce. I was only twenty and I did have a child. We ended up in a homeless shelter for a period of time and then on public assistance for three years while we struggled to get back on our feet. Truthfully, without the government’s help in the form of subsidized housing, welfare, food stamps, financial aid and help with child care while I attended college, I don’t know how we would have made it! Sorrowfully recognizing that many women fight with everything they have inside and still never find their way out of many such situations, I certainly do feel blessed.

Another sobering truth arose for me in remembering my parents divorce. Both of my parents’ had worked hard for thirty years together. My mother was an accomplished banker, a wonderful mother and wife. Yet when her marriage ended her finances spiraled down so far and so fast that she needed the assistance of her grown children in order to sustain a life style that was just above poverty level. What would have happened to her if we had not been able to rescue her? My sweet, hard working mother would have become an elderly woman, who was alone, living in poverty. I can barely stand the thought. Neither can I stand to think of such possibilities for myself.

As concerning as these statistic are, there certainly is hope. There are answers. Women are tenacious, creative and bright. We have to be thinking ahead. We need to plan for that “rainy day.” In doing so, many of us are becoming entrepreneurs and joining the home based business industry. In fact recent statistics in this particular field state that eighty percent of all home business owners are women! So let me ask you: Are you prepared for any of the worst case scenarios mentioned above? It’s not pleasurable to think on such things, but we need to be realistic. It’s time to get into our thinking and planning modes. Many of us have more to worry about than just ourselves. We have parents and children and spouses who depend on us as well. Working at home offers us the possibility of creating financial freedom for our entire family.

Three years ago as my beautiful husband, who was the sole financial provider of our family, nursed me back to health as I recovered from a devastating illness, I had a sobering thought. What if the tables were turned? What if he was ill and bedridden and not me? Could I have financially provided for our family? The bottom line truth was, no. Then, two years ago I began my own network marketing business and because of it our family is on the way to financial security. I don’t often think of the negative “what if’s” of life. I don’t believe in living in anxiety and fear. I do however, believe in being realistic and in planning ahead. No, network marketing is not for everyone but maybe network marketing is for you! It’s worth checking in to. Keep an open mind, stay positive and check things out. It could save you and your loved ones from becoming a statistic.
