Even if you are not brand new, and you have done this before revisit your Why. This is the MOST important thing you will ever do. It will provide you with an unbreakable foundation, and will give you the very reason it will be worth going through the inevitable ups and downs you are sure to experience on the path to success. Furthermore, knowing your Why will also give others personal insight into your motivation behind why you are sharing your opportunity and products with them.
We have all heard this in many different forms.
- If you create the WHY, then the HOW will show up!
- If you do not know WHY you are going somewhere, you will most likely get lost!
- If your Why doesn't make you cry, it 's not strong enough.

2. What was my purpose for joining a network marketing company?
Don't just say, "I wanna make a lot of money!" You MUST be certain and specific about your Why. It is critical that you are very clear about your Why and that it is close to your heart. It must become ingrained into your everyday dialog. Knowing your Why, and truly believing it, will set you apart from many others in this business and greatly assist you in your relationship building process.

The real truth hit me when I remembered that many years ago my first marriage had ended in divorce. I was only twenty and I did have a child. We ended up in a homeless shelter for a period of time and then on public assistance for three years while we struggled to get back on our feet. Truthfully, without the government’s help in the form of subsidized housing, welfare, food stamps, financial aid and help with child care while I attended college, I don’t know how we would have made it! Sorrowfully recognizing that many women fight with everything they have inside and still never find their way out of many such situations, I certainly do feel blessed.
Another sobering truth arose for me in remembering my parents divorce. Both of my parents’ had worked hard for thirty years together. My mother was an accomplished banker, a wonderful mother and wife. Yet when her marriage ended her finances spiraled down so far and so fast that she needed the assistance of her grown children in order to sustain a life style that was just above poverty level. What would have happened to her if we had not been able to rescue her? My sweet, hard working mother would have become an elderly woman, who was alone, living in poverty. I can barely stand the thought. Neither can I stand to think of such possibilities for myself.
As concerning as these statistic are, there certainly is hope. There are answers. Women are tenacious, creative and bright. We have to be thinking ahead. We need to plan for that “rainy day.” In doing so, many of us are becoming entrepreneurs and joining the home based business industry. So let me ask you: Are you prepared for any of the worst case scenarios mentioned above? It’s not pleasurable to think on such things, but we need to be realistic. The Added Stress…
During the process of pursuing Financial Freedom, there can be added stress by having your own business. Sure, you may not have to worry about money after your business is running smoothly, but until then, you’ll be overseeing every aspect of your business. You’ll have concerns like, wondering if your business will be profitable long enough to remain in business. Along with other challenges along the way. Being a risk taker to achieve your dreams can be stressful, but don’t allow stress to stop you from creating your Financial Freedom!
Less Time With Family…
One of the many reasons people are so attracted to the concept of Financial Freedom is, it allows more quality time with family. However, initially, this may not be the case. Of course, the best way to get financially secure is to start your own business, but initially it can be time consuming. Yes, you may spend less time with your family, because there is a learning curve involved to achieve Financial Freedom. Remember, it’s a process and it does take time to evolve. However, allow yourself to find the right balance that’s necessary to attain Financial Freedom and have free time to spend with your family.
Greed Takes Over…
When having your own successful business, you can certainly get consumed with greed. Meaning, you’ve already achieved Financial Freedom, but it’s never enough. It’s when greed takes over & you always want more. Unfortunately, you spend your whole life looking for the best way to keep making more. In the end, the quest for wealth takes over, and you never get a chance to truly enjoy having Freedom!
Unwillingness to Remember…
Another drawback is when you start off with nothing & acquire Financial Freedom, you may forget where you came from. Yes, a simple form of amnesia. You may forget what use to make you happy, because you’ve allowed money to change you. Remember to be true to who you are & the journey you’ve taken, while accomplishing your Financial Freedom!
Obtaining Financial Freedom is no walk in the park. However, beginning this road is certainly the most difficult step. Keep in mind that the road to becoming Financially Free comes with challenges to overcome. The secret ingredient is how you handle those challenges. We as women have the opportunity to experience the single most life changing event possible. The "feeling" of life it 's self. The movement inside as a new life is finding its way. Incredible! We are provileged with first hand knowledge, and experience in knowing beyond any doubt, that we as individual women had a role in the creation of this new life. Now don't misunderstand, the creation lies with God, where each of us came from.
One might ask, "If women are the weaker of the sexes, then why not give this important undertaking to men?" They are historically the strong, the leaders, the warriors, the providers and the decision makers. So again I ask, "Why was a women chosen?" I believe that the answer might go like this....Because we as women have a combination of both physical and emotional strength. This adds up to courage. We are nuturers. It takes a nurturer to raise a child.
Take the garden for example. The gardener first prepares the soil with vitamins and minerals. He then till 's the ground to ready it for the planting of seeds. The seeds are planted, watered and fed. Great patience sets in. He waits. The weeds begin to grow. He pulls them out. More grow. He pulls those out. The plants finally grow. More weeds come. The gardner continues to pull the weeds. You might say, "Why do weeds continue to come, I did not plant them?" This confirms to us the cycle of life.
The wind and rain bring spores/seeds, birds bring them and trees drop them, just to name a few. The nurturer of the garden must keep a watchful eye out, to insure his garden is not overrun. As women, as mothers we too must keep a watchful eye over our children. Like the weeds in a garden that weaken the root and stem system, the weeds that touch our children 's lives can weaken their foundation. Women have been given a Great Charge.
With or without the nuturing of women, life would continue, but to what quality? To what end? The Big Island of Hawaii, is built entirely out of volcanic ash. Black Hard Ash. I still ask, how does life grow there? To see greenery from this black ash makes no logical sense. It does hoever provide a clear answer. Life will find a way. It will continue on.

The American Academy of Pediatrics teaches the vital importance of nurturing in children. How important touch and love are in their development. The very small $10.00 a month investment countered by the huge money making potential of GDI makes it a business that anyone can start and succeed in. Even people in very poor third world countries are making money with GDI.
In other MLM companies, new salespeople may be required to pay for their own training and marketing materials, or to buy a significant amount of inventory. A commonly adopted test of legality is that MLMs follow the so-called 70% rule which prevents members "inventory loading" in order to qualify for additional bonuses. The 70% rule requires participants to sell 70% of previously purchased inventory before procuring new orders. There are however variations in interpretations of this rule.
Some attorneys insist that 70% of purchased inventory should be sold to people who are not participants in the business, while many MLM companies allow for self-

However, Amway was found guilty of price fixing (by requiring "independent" distributors to sell at the low price) and making exaggerated income claims.
The FTC advises that multi-level marketing organizations with greater incentives for recruitment than product sales are to be viewed skeptically. In April 2006, it proposed a Business Opportunity Rule intended to require all sellers of business opportunities including MLMs to provide enough information to enable prospective buyers to make an informed decision about their probability of earning money. FTC trade regulation rules usually take 1-1/2 to 3 years before a final rule is established.
Criticisms have been raised against MLM programs for being cult-like in nature. Many MLM programs feature intense motivational programs, which can be hard to distinguish from cult propaganda. Criticism of Amway as a cult have been regarded as largely baseless, though some of the "Independent Business Organizations" within Amway have been accused of operating as cults.

Leave Corporate America Behind
Have you ever thought of leaving the rat race before becoming a rat? I worked in Corporate America many years and I don't believe that everyone becomes a rat as I worked with many good people. Many of those good people are still there; some people are just more suited as followers and working for someone else. I am not. What are you suited to do? Have you ever thought about what it would be like to leave your job and do your own thing? To follow your passion? Do you even have a passion?
In the beginning of my journey I just wanted "out" and to be an "entreprenour". Many can relate to that but may not know where to start. When I started, my corporate job gave me plenty of disposable income to invest. I decided to open a boutique as I enjoyed clothes and it sounded like lots of fun. Location, location, location is what is important in retail. My location was great at first but then construction started and my once great location became a graveyard for small businesses. Next, I heard that leveraging other people 's work was a good thing and so I had this bright idea to open a day spa with a partner. We had several contractors working in our spa and we collected a percentage of what they made. We managed, they worked and we got paid. Not a bad deal. Long story short...good idea, wrong partner. What I learned from my experience was so valuable as I learned how to run a business and I seen first hand the advantages and disadvantages small business owners face. I also learned that my dream and passion wasn't in a boutique or a day spa.

Jack Canfield says the way to know what you want is to first ask yourself what you don't want. After my first two experiences, I found out that I don't want to tie up large sums of money in retail, I don't like overhead or employees, I don't want a partners and I don't want to spend time away from my son. That was a good start. With my list I was able to list some criteria for my "final" push toward an entreprenourial lifestyle. Leverage the work of others without overhead or employees and have more time with my son all while getting to have fun working and helping people. Take a minute and think about what you have experienced that you "don't want" and then turn it into what you do want. Gain some clarity. This is a start and know that as you evolve, your list will change. This is the first and most crucial step. If you don't start with what you want, how will you know when you've received it?

It isn't for everyone but I came in to the field treating it like a business. I positioned myself to attract people who wanted what I had to offer... so I helped them and a successful business was born. After 10 months, I left the job and have not looked back since then. It did take work and focus. Anyone that tells you it 's easy should probably go to corporate america because they are a rat. Just kidding. I will clarify... it is not easy but it is simple. It just takes you completing step 1 from above with knowing what you want, then focus and use a system to get it. It boils down to giving yourself and your business the respect of treating it just like a business. If you have never had a business before, you want to partner with someone that is already successful so they can show you how to do it. Anyone can, but not everyone will. I believe if you really respect what you're doing and you have clarity of what you want, then the focus will come easy. As for the system... find people who are already doing what you want to do and ask them to share their system. If you are in network marketing like me, there are lots of systems out there. You can use one that is setup from one of your senior partners or you can find many online from other networkers. Regardless of whose system it is... do the due diligence and find out what will work for YOU and if you are in a business of network marketing, your system must be generic enough to be passed down to other generations to duplicate success.

He has researched the price and he asks all the time what he can do to make extra money to save up for it. He does the work and he saves the money because he has the clarity of what he wants. He is following thru' daily with the action to get him closer to obtaining his goal. I guess you can sum it up that if you really do want to leave your job, you should think like an elementary student. Decide what you want and do everything you can to make it happen.

It boils down to giving yourself and your business the respect of treating it just like a business. If you have never had a business before, you want to partner with someone that is already successful so they can show you how to do it. Anyone can, but not everyone will. I believe if you really respect what you're doing and you have clarity of what you want, then the focus will come easy. As for the system... find people who are already doing what you want to do and ask them to share their system. If you are in network marketing like me, there are lots of systems out there. You can use one that is setup from one of your senior partners or you can find many online from other networkers. Regardless of whose system it is... do the due diligence and find out what will work for YOU and if you are in a business of network marketing, your system must be generic enough to be passed down to other generations to duplicate success.
This may seem like an elementary idea but maybe that 's the basics we need to keep in front of us. My son is in 3rd grade and he knows he wants a new game system. He has researched the price and he asks all the time what he can do to make extra money to save up for it. He does the work and he saves the money because he has the clarity of what he wants. He has a system for making more money by asking to complete extra chores while keeping his focus on getting enough money to buy his new system. He is following thru' daily with the action to get him closer to obtaining his goal. I guess you can sum it up that if you really do want to leave your job, you should think like an elementary student. Decide what you want and do everything you can to make it happen.

Successfully achieving your goals will depend on how well you manage your setbacks. All things in life have hills and valleys. It is important to acknowledge this but even more important is to embrace this. It is natural to have an up side and a down side, a good time and a bad time. It is all around you in nature and it is all a part of the process of life; it is a law of the universe. So why fight it, why let it get you down, why let it affect your desire for success?
When you are in the valleys of your life, look for what you are learning there, what is the lesson? In every set back, there is a lesson and even a bright side, you just have to look deep into the situation to find it. When you do find it you have enriched your life just a little more for having discovered it. And now you have cleared the path to realizing true professional success.

Sometimes it is not easy to see it when you are in the midst of chaos. However with a little clarity of mind, you will be able to find the opportunity in the set backs, finding a path to success.
